Why “Undiscipline”?

As a coach, every person I have met with has talked about their need for self-discipline.

EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

Whether we talked for an hour or 6 months or 10 minutes, there’s this wildly pervasive idea that every struggle just requires more discipline.

I’m here to call bull shit.

Where I used to be indifferent to self-discipline as a thing that didn't super work for me, now I am legit pissed off this oppressive narrative is bogging down so many brilliant, talented, hard-working people. :::Shakes fist skyward at the thought of self-discipline:::

What’s “undiscipline” then?

Undiscipline is the off-ramp away from false binaries of too much vs. not enough—of discipline vs. indiscipline…

Undiscipline means creating from a place of desire and alignment…

… rather than obligation and “shoulding.”

Undiscipline centers humanity in all ways…

… instead of figuring out how to override the need for rest, slowness, and play.

Undiscipline is about creating a pull to your life’s work…

… rather than engineering a millions ways to push yourself into your dreams.

My coaching practice breaks people free from assumptions of what things are “supposed” to looks like / be like / feel like. It’s about reaching beyond metrics for success to tap into what fulfillment feels like for you.

Today. Right fucking now.

If imagining yourself moving through life this way sounds like a full body sigh of “yes, please”—
